TRANSPORTATION
Reliable transportation supports youth success. Our organization removes barriers for indigenous youth by offering rides to school, medical appointments, and community events. This helps improve educational attendance, housing stability, community connections, and transition to adulthood. Due to the rising violence on public transit in Edmonton, safe transportation for youth is crucial. Daily assaults are reported, and many youths no longer feel secure using public transport. Recent incidents include a fatal attack at a bus terminal and a shooting. Indigenous youth face even greater risks due to racism in high-risk areas.
YOUTH SUPPORT SERVICES
Our youth services support young people transitioning into adulthood, offering mentoring, educational help, life skills, and career guidance. We use trauma- informed, strength- based, and culturally respectful methods, with a focus on helping Indigenous youth achieve their goals and overcome challenges. Many youth are struggling to make positive changes in their lives and are merely existing and surviving on a day-to-day basis. A youth worker will motivate them and encourage them to engage with life.
MOVING SERVICES
We provide reliable, compassionate moving and relocation support services. Helping youth transition safely into new housing. We have found that Indigenous youth are often evicted with just 24 hours’ notice, leaving them at immediate risk. Our moving team responds quickly, relocating their belongings to secure storage until new accommodations become available. By offering safe transportation, hands-on support, and culturally respectful care, we help reduce stress and ensure no one is left behind during critical life transitions.
